The Book Fair is Coming to Mill Pond School

SPRINGFIELD, MA – Helix Human Services is seeking donations for the book fair at Mill Pond School.

Book Fair at MPS Flyer

This year we are hosting the first ever book fair at Mill Pond School Springfield! It won’t be your traditional book fair, our students are earning MPS bucks over the next several weeks to then shop our book fair.

How the Book Fair will Work

Students will earn MPS bucks now until the book fair in April. They are rewarded for good grades, good behavior, being a kind friend, among other reasons. Ms. Theresa’s middle school class is helping with setup, “pricing” items, promoting the fair to their classmates, and with checkout. This is an opportunity for students to build skills like: organization, making change, customer service. Students will shop our store full of book marks, smelly pencils, stickers and of course their next favorite book.

Any books not “purchased” by students will be added to the school’s library.

Book Donations Needed

Since this isn’t your typical book fair where kids come with a cash budget, we are seeking book donations. We have a book registry at Bookroo as well as an Amazon wish list, all purchases on Bookroo and Amazon will be shipped right to us. New books can also be purchased and delivered to Helix Human Services administrative building, 44 Sherman Street, Springfield MA by March 28, 2025.

About Mill Pond School

The Mill Pond Schools, with locations in Springfield and the Berkshires, serve students—kindergarten through age 22—who have social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges, a learning disability, or who may have a diagnosis of high-functioning Autism. We are committed to serving the whole child, including the child’s family. Our goal is to assist students in developing the skills necessary to successfully return to a less-restrictive environment, and, ultimately, to their previous school setting.
