Mental Health Awareness Month

Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone of addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental illness. It is a time to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral issues, as well as highlighting the ways how mental illness and addiction can affect all of us – patients, providers, families, and our society at large.

The Family Wellness Center

Maisam Borrero, Site Manager at our Family Wellness Center, visited Mass Appeal to speak about ending the stigma around mental health and talk about the services we offer our community to treat their needs.

The Family Wellness Center is an outpatient mental health clinic, offering family and couples therapy, community-based and telehealth options, as well as parent education. Therapeutic approaches range from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). For individuals aged 5 and above.

The Family Wellness Center opened in May of 2022 in Holyoke, MA and serves patients from surrounding cities and towns without needing a referral.
