Home > About

Since the Civil War, Helix Human Services (formerly the Children’s Study Home) has been dedicated to a single purpose: finding ways to help people who have experienced trauma in their lives. That has not, nor will it ever, change. We are best known for the services we provide to children and youth who are referred to us by state agencies. Over the years, we have expanded our programs and services to include adults and families.

At Helix Human Services, we do everything in our power to help traumatized children, families, and adults find their resilience and strength. We will always be here when people in crises need us. We know we must provide a continuum of care—one that is built on a foundation of trust and driven by purpose—and always striving to do and be better.

OUR VISION

Strong, healthy, resilient children and families.

Core Values

Compassion

We treat all people with kindness, respect, dignity, and empathy. Ensuring compassionate care and services is the heart of everything we do.

Adaptability

We believe in the human capacity for change and growth. Recognizing there is no “one size fits all” solution, we embrace flexibility, collaboration, and innovation.

Integrity

We build trust through honesty, reliability, and professionalism. You can count on us, no matter what.

Inclusiveness

Our strength as an organization lies in the diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives of our staff and the community we serve.

Hope

We anticipate success, encouraging our staff and those we serve to believe in new possibilities for a better life.

Our MISSION
