Since the Civil War, Helix Human Services (formerly the Children’s Study Home) has been dedicated to a single purpose: finding ways to help people who have experienced trauma in their lives. That has not, nor will it ever, change. We are best known for the services we provide to children and youth who are referred to us by state agencies. Over the years, we have expanded our programs and services to include adults and families.
At Helix Human Services, we do everything in our power to help traumatized children, families, and adults find their resilience and strength. We will always be here when people in crises need us. We know we must provide a continuum of care—one that is built on a foundation of trust and driven by purpose—and always striving to do and be better.

Our MISSION
Helix Human Services provides trauma-informed therapeutic and educational services to diverse children and families, building the foundation for lifelong success at home, school, and in the community.
I view the agency’s work through the lens of a retired pediatric nurse. The children referred to our programs have been severely traumatized by events and circumstances outside their control. Working with Helix Human Services’ staff, these kids are given a fighting chance. The work is difficult, but recovery is possible.
